Lemongrass is a herb which is used to make a healthy and a nutritious tea. Chop the grass, put in the water, bring it to a boil and let it steep for 10-15 min. Or add the lemongrass chopped sticks in teapot and let it brew.
India is the biggest producer of lemongrass. It is cultivated mostly in the eastern part of India.
Benefits of lemon grass tea:
- boost immunity
- full of antioxidants
- Relieves menstrual pain
- ease you in the conditions of cold and flu
Honestly, lemongrass tea gives many other benefits than any vitamin pill.
Basil is one of the members of mint family. It’s a great leafy herb that originates in Asia and Africa. The best growth of this herb is in hot and dry weather.
Used for garnishing, making delicious tomato-basil soup and my personal favourite -Pesto sauce! Chopped leaves can be sprinkled over the salads.
Pro tip – don’t chop the leaves but tear them for better flavour and aroma 😉
This amazing herb’s nutrients provides health benefits such as good digestion and anti inflammatory.
Hope this post is beneficial for anyone who pops by.
Stay safe and healthy 🙂
Wish you all a very Happy Teej, a contribution to Mother Earth!
Teej is a Hindu festival that is celebrated by married and unmarried girls in India. On this day Lord SHIVA and Goddess PARVATI reunite.
Hindu women enjoy this festival by taking swings in monsoon. As it monsoon season . Every married and unmarried woman applies henna, fills up her arms with colourful bangles, dresses up in Greens (to thank MOTHER EARTH). They hang out with their bunch of family girls and friends share Indian sweet delicacies.
I remember my first Teej, 20 years back, when I got married, my mother sent me a beautiful green saree( Indian outfit), matching bangles and a basket full of matching make up and last but not the least amazing jewellery made of flowers (which I was supposed to wear).
These are my most mesmerising memories. I wish to do the same for my daughters now !
