A young green soybean is called EDAMAME. It is soft and edible. It is a good source of protein and serves as healthy snack for vegetarians.
Just 1/2 cup of them a day really punches up the fibre, protein and vitamin/mineral content of your diet.
To eat the edamame, just put one edamame pod in your mouth, slide out the edamame beans with your teeth, and discard the pod.
